Nandkumar Dhumal, a resident of Wakad, Pune. Twelve years ago, in 2000, he sowed apple seeds in the garden at his home. The seeds have now become a full grown apple tree inspite of the tropical climatic conditions of Pune. Apple trees are known to grow at temperatures 23 -34 degrees in frost free climate of places like Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh in India.
He has also Succeeded in growing fruit bearing apple tree in Terrace garden under un supportive tropical dry climate of Pune
